A Personal Practice of Grounding, Breath & Loving Awareness
There was a time I felt completely disconnected from myself. I was going through the motions—checking the boxes, holding it all together—but beneath the surface, I felt unrooted. I didn’t know how to be with myself. Not really.
Then I found breath.
Then I found stillness.
Then I found my body.
And that changed everything.
Learning to ground into my body—to listen to it, befriend it, and feel safe inside it—has been one of the most profound shifts of my life. This wasn’t a single moment of clarity, but a slow and sacred return to the truth:
The body is home.
🌬️ Grounding as a Way of Loving Myself
When I first discovered Yin Yoga, I didn’t realize it would become such a lifeline. But there was something about the quiet shapes, the long holds, the invitation to pause, that brought me back to myself.
I learned to sit with discomfort—not just physical, but emotional too.I began to recognize when I was abandoning myself in the name of productivity or perfection.
And I began to reclaim the parts of me that I’d silenced. Over time, I layered in other practices that supported this sense of grounded embodiment:
Reiki-infused meditations that helped me soothe my nervous system and reconnect to my energy
Simple rituals like warm tea in the morning or walking barefoot in the grass to feel the Earth beneath me
Journaling prompts that helped me meet myself with curiosity instead of judgment
These weren’t “wellness habits.” These were acts of devotion—to myself, to my healing, to the life I want to live.
🔻 Rooting Into the Body’s Wisdom
At the center of it all is the Root Chakra—our energetic foundation. It’s the place of safety, stability, belonging. When I feel anxious or scattered, this is where I begin. Breath. Body. Earth.
I’ve come to understand that rooting into the body isn’t just a grounding practice.
It’s a way back to truth.
💌 Want More of This?
These are the exact tools I return to again and again—and I’m weaving them into the first week of my upcoming course:
Coming Home: A 4-Week Journey to Soulful Self-Love
In Week One: The Body is Home, I’ll be sharing:
A deeply grounding Yin Yoga class
A Reiki-infused meditation for stability and calm
Two supportive rituals (one short, one long)
Journaling prompts for reflection and embodiment
If this kind of work speaks to you, I’d love to invite you into the full experience when it opens.
Make sure you’re on my email list so you don’t miss the early bird invitation. And follow along on Instagram @ladyon12 for behind-the-scenes glimpses and weekly meditations.
Your body is your first home.
Root into it. Listen to it. Love it.
Everything else flows from there.
Let this be your invitation to begin.
With Love,
Steph
